description Prophetstown State Park is located anong the south bank of the Rock River. The area is shaded and offers many activities to include: fishing, boating, picnicing, horseshoe pitching, a small nature trail, and camping. The area is located within the Prophetown city limits making it only a few blocks from the downtown area. Camping includes any elctrical and a nonelectrical area. Both areas are near ths shower building with flush toilets. The area is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
drivingDirection The park is located on the south bank of the Rock River within the city limits of Prophetstown. Illinois Highway 78 runs north & south through Prophetstown. The park is located several blocks east of highway 78. Interstates I 88 and I 80 are located close to the park. If traveling east or west on I 88 get off on Illinois Highway 78. Travel south about 5 miles to Prophetstown and follow signs. If traveling east or west on I 80 get off on Illinois Highway 78. Travel north about 12 miles to Prophetstown and follow signs.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. At least one responsible adult must accompany each group of 15 minors. Group size and number of vehicles cannot exceed the established maximums. Special camping rate reductions apply to Illinois residents only. The maximum length of camping stay from May 1 through September 30 is 14 nights in any 30 day period. Responsible use of alcohol is permitted in the park and campground by legal age adults. All pets must be on a leash nolonger than 10 ft. Owners or handlers are responsible for their animal's waste and must dispose of it properly. All visitors are required to leave the park at by 10:00PM. Groups of 25 or more are required to register in adance with the park office. It is the responsibility of the park user to place any litter or garbage in it's proper place.
